History
In 1946 the BC government legislated Registered Massage Therapy as a regulated health care profession. At Myokinetics all of our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are fully licensed with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC), Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of BC (RMTBC) and the City of Port Coquitlam. Registered Massage Therapists are focused on maintaining and restoring patients back to optimal health. RMTs have been taught to accurately assess and treat a wide variety of conditions using specific techniques. These techniques include: joint mobilization, manual therapy, muscle energy, trigger point release, myo-fascial release, hydrotherapy, and rehabilitative exercises such as stretching, strengthening, patient education and postural correction.

Why Choose Massage Therapy?
Recover Faster
Registered Massage Therapy has seen a significant increase over the last decade. This can be attributed to a number of factors such as higher educational standards, research studies showing the effectiveness of massage therapy, and an overall increase in public demand for a natural non-surgical way of healing. In British Columbia, medical physicians significantly increased their referral for Registered Massage Therapy due to the fact that they see their patients conditions improve drastically through massage therapy. Patients are able to access massage therapy more easily and frequently thus providing them with better and faster results.
